A Little At A Time
For a very long time, I have been planning to complete a number of online courses I started. For one reason or another, I always fall short of completing these courses in the allotted time frame. Until recently, I reassessed my plans and decided to take another route towards achieving these goals I have set out for myself. And what I have decided to do is to break the tasks down into very minute chunks.
Rather than spending long hours watching videos, all I do is to spend a minimum of 10 to 15 minutes on each task daily. And when the course gets really interesting, the timing can go further than that. But the most important thing is to set out that chunk of time to achieve that particular task. One other thing I made sure to do was to set a specific time of the day to have the task completed. For my article writing, I make sure to write something early in the morning even before going to work. And for one of the courses I am taking on Coursera, I watch for at least 15 minutes every evening.
Being able to break these tasks down to very small chunk of time and specific time of day for their execution is really proving to be one of the best ways to tackle any task I have to complete now. It is amazing how so many of the things I have been planning for a long while just fall into place now. With such a simple and easy way to get started. The most important way to ensure you can keep up with this plan is to write it down. When you write it down, you can easily follow up with your progress over a period of time.
I have realized that it might be difficult to get long hours to work on my various tasks, but putting in very little and consistent time to have them done would really go a long way towards making goal achievements a possibility. Well, you might say this does not work for you and you have tried a couple of times, believe me, I used to say the same thing. But the most important thing is to never give up and keep trying to get the best way that works for you. Never give up on trying something new that makes you a better version of yourself.
For me, I do not know for how long I would keep up with this, but would definitely keep going as long as I have a goal to achieve, and I believe I would continue to have a goal to achieve everyday. So it is never too late to get out those tasks you have been planning to achieve for a very long time and simply just get started with them. One little task every day is the golden rule to achieving all the goals you have planned out for yourself.
Understand that no one would help achieve your goals other than you. So you have to be willing at every point in time to do something so simple and little that can help move your goal forward everyday. What limits we can reach are the limits we set for ourselves and little by little, we can achieve all the big goals we have set for ourselves.
Start small, start simple today. Your goals and indeed all our goals are possible with the right spirit and dedication. Go get something started today. Thanks and God bless.
