Aim Higher Than You Currently Are

The limit we set for ourselves is usually based on the type of environment we find ourselves. If you were to grow up in a family where the lowest qualification is a university degree, having a university degree would be more like a starting block for you but if you were to come from a family where you are the first to enter university, then it would really be a nice achievement to finish your university degree. As such, the environment we find ourselves sometimes play an important role in what we aim and achieve.

However, your environment should never stop or determine what you would become. What you would be is much bigger than what your environment can predict. So many people who started out small have gone to become one of the greatest people on earth which means that sometimes your background is no more a determining factor of your life as the weather is to your morality. They can all exist on their own.

So to everyone out there who seeks to aim low and justify it for themselves, you might just be right, but imagine what would happen if you ever aim higher and achieve it. It seems the more we aim for something low and achieve it, the more we aim for something lower and as such, at the end of our lives, we might have probably lived, but we never really made an impact. We simply existed as a number rather than as a person with an impact.

For whatever you set out to do today, aim higher. It does not mean you have to take on something too much, but dare to dream big and start small. You can aim to get that role you have always told yourself you can never attain, you can seek to marry that woman you never had the energy to go talk to her parents. You can aim for whatever it is you want, the limits are what others say cannot be done, not necessarily what cannot be done. Limits are meant to be broken, as such, you should never aim for a low life. A low life is safe, free from risk, but in the end, whether we live a low or a high life, we all die at the end. And what most people regret on their death beds are the opportunities they never went for.

People would seldom regret what they did, but what they had the opportunity to go for but never pursued are the things people regret the most. So whatever goal it is that you have set your mind and heart upon, know that it is possible. And never make the mistake that when you try once, you would achieve it. NO. Understand that in the path to achieving your goal, not everything you do would be right, as such, when you try something out and it does not work out, know that you have eliminated one more method that does not work. But that should never stop you from moving forward.

A winner is not one who wins everyday, but one who keeps winning even when he falls. He gets back up and moves on to the next task. Understand that failing is a feedback mechanism on how you are doing on the goal. If you keep hitting a wall, it might mean you need to change the approach, but never let the goal out of sight. People would project their greatest fears unto you and so when people say you cannot do it, they are simply telling you their own limitations. They cannot do it. Not you. You can keep pushing and moving everyday.

Show me a winner who has never failed and I would show you a tree that has never shed its tree. Its really the failures that make the good days look good. If everyday was good, we might never have a day to compare. Everyday would just be the same. So keep pushing, aim higher than you currently are and never let the world tell you what you cannot do. Set the limits yourself and keep moving forward. Greatness awaits the person who never lose sight of the goal. Thanks and God bless.
