Do Something

Every day, my bed seems to speak to me to sleep on it just a little longer. And when you realize it, you have slept for close to an hour. When it is time to go for the morning exercise, your body seems to tell you that you are already healthy and might not have any need to exercise. Many more people are on their beds, sleeping, your body would say. Why won’t you also join? To write an article, the hands say just skip for today, you would have something to write tomorrow.

But when you do not listen to the bed, you get up and get the day started. In the end, you realize it was better to have done something rather than simply remaining on the bed even when your alarm has gone off. At the end of the exercise which your body wanted you to not go for, you feel much better, both in your body and in your spirit. You wonder how you would have felt if you did not go for the exercise. For the article, you push and start writing something and in the end, you have an article that is capable of changing a person’s life.

So many of us have a lot of things that our minds crave instead of doing what we know deep down is the best for us. We know it is the best, but we sometimes prefer instant gratification. But if you delay the instant gratification just a little longer and do something simple that takes you closer to your goal, you realize that you are changing little by little. It matters that we do something no matter how little every day even when we feel like not doing it. If you feel like not waking up from the bed, simply open your eyes, that would at least set your body to realize that you are awake. Anything that makes you realize that you are not asleep can push you from being asleep to being awake. And you keep going, one task at a time.

Doing something is important because everybody at rest seeks to want to remain at rest and a body in motion seeks to always want to remain in motion. So if you do not start, you might remain seated, but if you give it just a little trial, you see you push yourself from where you are and closer to where you want to be. No matter what you are going through today, look for something simple and push on that. It does not have to be a grand task. A simple step at a time is all that you need.

Take a simple step today and keep going. Simple baby steps every day. Thanks and God Bless.
