Finding God Through Science

Let me go a bit on a different path today and talk about my experience since starting out as a student of Machine Learning with focus on Computer vision. So the basic idea is to be able to give computers the ability to state clearly what they see, just as humans are able to clearly define what they see. And this generally involves having to program the computer a certain way to be able to understand a type of data as belonging to one class and another data as belonging to another class and in the end, being able to clearly state which data belongs to which class.

Basically trying to create a simple human that can only classify images into one class or another. And this task is usually not a very easy one. In the end, you have a system ready to classify. Well, no one would come to me and say a model was randomly created and that no one was in charge and the model is able to achieve very high accuracy or basically can classify images properly. Well, my response would be that someone had to program that to make things happen.

So then, why do we think that the complete human that has even more functions that just a basic computer model was not created by a special being? How then are you able to convince yourself that somehow, humans were created from some really random act and that God does not have anything to do with it? I seem to not be able to make a simple model even create itself, no matter the level of randomness, how else then can a human that is more powerful be created randomly or from no unique source?

It is important to realize that no matter what we do here on earth, there is another world after this because the maker has not just created us here for no reason. And after every experiment where I create a new model and it is able to do something, I am happy, but I also realize that it is like creating a new baby. Just because the model in its own self might not understand that it was created by someone else does not mean that it was not created.

The amount of success we have been able to achieve by just being able to get computers to basically emulate just one part of human action, and even do it to the barest minimum has brought us so much success. How then can we imagine that the entire human was not created by something more intelligent and powerful than anyone of us?

For me, the more I work on computers, the more I understand the rigor of what it takes to create something. Computers might one day have a mind of their own and believe they were never created, they might even have complex mathematical proofs to show that. But it would always be evident that something so complex could not just have been random.

God is indeed perfect and the only being we all need to follow. It is important to realize this as early as possible because it basically creates a path for you that makes the big picture even clear from the beginning. Things might obviously seem to work without involving God, but it definitely would be much better if you involve God. To me God exists, and I hope you also believe and learn that. Seek God and you would find Him in everything that you do. And when you find Him, your life would never remain the same. May God keep us all on the right path. Amin.

Thanks and God bless.
