Give More Today

Resources are limited for every human and as such, we want to maximize the resources that we have, and in maximizing what we have, it sometimes translates into keeping things for ourselves and having no room to share. The logic that comes to our mind is where will I get if I give out or what would I get in return when I give out?

These qestions bother us a lot of the time and in the end, we find ourselves either keeping all the resources or giving out some of them. And today, I say to you that it is better to share than to keep it all to yourself. It is better to always be a giver than to always be the taker. As you already know about life, things are not usually linear. It does not necessarily mean that you get less because you give out. Realize that when you were a kid, you gave out more so that you can get more in return from others. But beyond expecting something in return, giving makes us happier and better humans.

When we give, we learn to be able to live with less. And when we are able to live with less, we are content with whatever it is that we have. And in being content with the little that we have, we find happiness. And in the end, what is life if not a period spent being happy most of the time. So it is important to realize today that sharing and giving does not mean that what we have would diminish, see it from the perspective that you have been given more so that you can help others. In giving, it does not have to only be material things. We can give more of our love, time, and other things that are not necessarily material items.

And in giving, we should only have one intention. That the other person we are sharing with becomes a better person because of what we have done. That should be the goal. Not because they would pay you back or anything like that, but because someone’s life would become better simply because you shared. Imagine how you would feel if someone becomes better simply because you shared.

In giving, realize that it is very difficult at first because you cannot see the direct impact of what you are trying to do, but be hopeful that the dots would one day connect. You do not need to know how they would connect, but in the future, it would. So be hopeful that more would come your way because you gave more. And never think that keeping the resources to yourself would in any way make you better than others.

The people with a lot of resources are not necessarily better than us in any sphere of life and that should always tell us that it is not about the resources we have, but what we do with what we have. And when you give what you have, it would one day come to you in a bigger and better fashion that you ever expected. So continue to share and give today.

Give your time, your money, and your love to people who truly deserve them. Never seek for what you would get back, but seek to help make an impact by giving. Giving has never made any man poorer, and you cannot be the first at that. So give more and expect less. It is difficult, but we can do it. Thanks and God Bless.
