Hold Yourself To A Higher Standard

It is easy to be mediocre. To simply follow the path everyone follows everyday is one of the simplest things to do and in doing that sometimes, we loose our identity. We loose who we really are and sometimes it is difficult to get it back.

We simply go through life everyday expecting and wishing that things were much better. Always hoping for a better way while we sometimes have all it takes to be what we want to be. We just think it is not enough and hope we can get something better. With what we have, we can be what we want to be.

For me, the goal has to be better everyday. However, it has been a very hard task remaining consistent on the path always. Sometimes, we fall and sometimes it takes a while to get back up. But the only plan now is to never give up and to always hold myself to a higher standard.

A friend said to me, I never want to be mediocre in anything I do. It is simple to say that, but such words and actions create a better way of life for us far more than we can ever imagine. For me, I would forever work with that and never be mediocre in anything that I do. Our lives must always have its mistakes, but I have decided to always go all out with a clean and energetic mind towards everything that I do.

As such, I look forward to holding myself to a higher standard than for anyone I work with. Be my greatest critic all in the path of becoming better. This is because I have realized that all that follows regret is wishes. Wishes that we once had the opportunity to carry out, but never really executed. So in the end, it matters that we hold ourselves to the highest standard possible.

I apologize to every friend and colleague I have failed in one area or the other. I apologize and I assure you by God’s grace that I would do only what I can put my highest standard to. Forgive me for I have wronged no one but myself, but in so doing, I have made a lot of my friends unhappy. Feel free to let me know how best I can apologize to you if I have offended you in much greater ways than my article can clearly state.

But henceforth, it is going to be smooth sailing. Paths of greater standards and better commitment. I wish everyone could charge themselves with working with the highest standard possible. Maybe one day, we would be happy we did.
