It Is All About The Mindset
Do you remember the time when you wanted to do something but told yourself it was impossible to achieve, then you found a way to achieve it anyways? How did you feel when you achieved this feat? Elated right? And that is how you should feel everytime and not be like someone who runs away anytime you smell something might be impossible to achieve.
Can you imagine the ignorance of the people who once said that it was impossible to break the 1 mile run in less than 4 minutes? Experts and sportmen used to say it was impossible to break the 1 mile run in 4 minutes until Roger Bannister broke that record and people all around the world began breaking what was once said to be impossible.
So is so many things we believe to be impossible today. No matter how much conviction you give yourself that whatever it is you are going through is unique to you and can never be conquered, you are wrong. You might never be able to completely conquer it, but you can definitely do much more than you are currently doing towards achieving that goal you set out for. It is always all about your mindset. Many might say that it is easy to say since I am not in the situation you are currently in, but one thing I can say is that imagine God promised you that whatever it is that you are doing is possible, how would you tackle it?
We build limitations for ourselves sometimes because others have also said it and that seems to validate the effort we have put in, but what if God said to you that it was possible to conquer that which you feel impossible to achieve. You would definitely keep pushing and believing that it is possible, but because we have told ourselves in our minds that it is impossible, we begin to tread on the line of caution and people around also encourage us to not go through with it and be comfortable with what we have, to simply just do what others have done.
But know that if you do what others do, you would simply never stand out. You would remain one of the numbers that was here but the impact you would make on this earth would come from you doing something not everyone definitely directly agrees with. You would have to do something different to be distinctive from the herd of humans all around the world. What legacy do you plan to leave if you live everyday just below the limits you can really achieve?
Imagine that you reach heaven and God explains to you that you have only spent 20% of all the energy you were given. That you had a whole lot more to have achieved. How would you feel? Even if you were to enter heaven, you would never really feel at peace with yourself knowing that you could have done much more than you did.
Realize that the mind is what limits us, we can do much more than we believe we can. Never relent in pushing the limits because the limits is what no man has never done, not necessarily what can never be done. Do not let the limits of other men stop you from going all the way to achieve what you set out for. Keep going, failures and challenges would arise, but have the mindset that you would do better and achieve much more in the end if you keep going.
It feels okay to just give up and enjoy the comfort that you are used to, but until you set out for something bigger than what you are used to, you might never have a bigger comfort than you currrently have. Your current comfort zone can be bigger and better, but you would have to let go of the current comfort zone you are in. So whatever limit you set for yourself, keep going, keep pushing and in the end, you would be happy you did. Thanks and God bless.
