Its Never Too Late To Start Again
I was recently thinking about all the wonderful plans I hoped to have achieved by this time of the year when I was planning how 2019 would be for me. I imagined I would have completed a record number of online courses, articles, provided help with a number of other things I am involved in. But right now, I am not sure if I have been able to achieve as much as I expected.
But I have come to realize that it is okay if we never really achieved as much as we hoped due to some unforeseen circumstances. It is our ability to always look back and see what has been done and what has not been done that truly matters. It is important that we always take time out to look back at what we have planned and where we currently are at. If we have achieved as much, then its time to update the tasks to something more tasking. And if we have not achieved as much as we expected, then its time to get back to the drawing board and see what we can do to get better again.
For me, I have gone back to the drawing board not to update to more challenging tasks, but to at least remind myself of the wonderful reasons why I decided to take on the goals in the first place. And that is really important. So many times, we get too distracted with so many other things that take us away from what really and truly matters that over time, we forget what it is that truly matters to us. But if we can take a few minutes to look again, we might be able to realize what it was that made us get started in the first place.
So as you start your day today, never forget that it is not too late to take some time out and realize what goals you have been pushing away for a very long time and what you need to do to get back in the game. It is never too late to get back to the goals you wanted to achieve. Understand that failure itself is not the problem, your approach to the failure is what would determine whether it was indeed a failure or not.
So whether you have achieved what you planned or not, your response right now is all that matters. Understand that things would always happen, and it is our ability to take a step back and really look at things more holistically is what would make our lives truly well lived. You cannot continue to always attend to the urgent issues and leaving the very important things to suffer. Your goal to become better might not be as urgent as delivering on the current task at hand, but know that getting better is the only way you can do much more for yourself and your organization. So pushing such goals forward would do you much more harm than you can imagine.
And every organization is ever ready to take on the person that does better everyday and not just the guy that does the bare minimum. You can do much better than you are currently doing now if you have a plan and follow through with it. What plans have you set out? Are you following up on them? If not, why not?
Get started today, your goals and plans are as important as you make them. No one would help achieve your goals except you. The world awaits your greatness. So go get started today. Thanks and God Bless.
