People react to the same thing differently. Our background, family and environment plays a big role in how we reason about things. So a lot of the time, the things we imagine are usually a product of our environment and not usually what might really be the case.

And one of such scenario is the things we are most scared of. Some of us are scared of speaking in front of a team of people. And deep down we really want to be better and do much more than that. However, we feel fear and decide to not go for it. Not only is speaking to people, so many of us seek inaction due to some things that has happened to us in the past or what our environment and society tells us everyday.

But the most important question you might want to ask is what if whatever you felt was going to happen never happened? Would you still remain inactive? Realize that fear can really be a very good thing in that it stops us from falling off a tall building or running into a fast moving car. But when we use it wrongly, it could limit us from achieving the very basic things that we need to achieve with our time here on earth. So it is important to always consider our response when we feel fear.

Are you afraid because it is something your society has told you or because it is something you told yourself? What if whatever you believed was never going to happen? How much more would you give? Consider that when next you want to give up on an action.

An application for a big government position opened up in Nigeria sometimes back. There was a number of groups based on the application. Some believed only the elite would get it and never bothered to apply. Others decided to give it a shot no matter what happened. At this point, interviews are still ongoing. Only one thing is certain for now, the people who never applied would never get it, the people who did apply, at least they still have a chance.

This might not look like the case you are in right now but how much different is your current position a product of the things you are afraid of doing. No matter what happens, realize that you can always be better than what your fears make you imagine. We see a number of applications and tell ourselves we are not good enough. We never apply. We see something that needs to be called out and we assume we are too afraid to say something.

Remember that whatever you fear limits you. You can never really know the extent of what you can become if you never let go of the fear and give it a try. No one is telling you that it would work out because you tried, but the most important thing is that you tried. At least, you overcame your fear. One thing about overcoming your fear is that it opens you up to bigger opportunities. Opportunities you never really believed could come through. So take a step at a time today and go of that fear that limits you.

Remember, there is no guarantee on what would happen. The only guarantee that you would never get it is if you never tried it. But whatever it is, give it a try and be that person who never gets tied down because of their fears. Fears are usually not real, they take away valuable time from something more important and invest it in something less important until that which is less important becomes more important.

Do not give in to your fears. Keep going and keep pushing. The world awaits your greatness. Thanks and God bless.
