Live To Your Fullest Potential
Have you ever imagined what would happen if when you die, and you arrive in heaven to give account of what you did on earth, the person attending to you calls your name, you move to receive your record, and in it was supposed to be a person that was much more successful, enjoyed more of life and did a whole lot of the things they are currently afraid of doing. If that person there was you, how would you feel? That you kept away from the uncomfortable zones of life only to have under lived. How would you feel?
Also consider the second scenario when you receive your record and you see that you were able to achieve what was recorded for you and you even did more. You would definitely be happy and be glad you took that route in life. So why then do we still continue to live life as if we are not going to die? We underachieve so we can tell ourselves that at least we were not disappointed. We did not aim too high and we are at least okay with what we have. And that is what I say is the major issue.
The people you see and remember in history were never those who played life small, kept at it and we just remember them everyday. Imagine how many people have lived since the beginning of time and imagine how many of them we remember today in history. I can say less than 10% of the people who have lived are remembered for doing something different. The remaining 90% lived and their lives ended the day they left this world. So what path do you want your life to take?
Do you want to continue playing safe and hitting your low targets or you want to push through life with all that you got so that in the end, you really lived and not just survived? Never feel disappointed if you aim for something really high and you do not hit it. Be scared when you aim for something low and you achieve because the high achievers are what the world remembers. Realize that some of the rules of achievements we find today are set up by other people, some are not necessarily natural rules that we must follow and as such, if you continue to follow rules layed down by a certain person, your life would never outgrow that person’s life and in the end, you would have lived just like that person and you have no real impact of yours on earth.
Seeking for high goals does not necessarily mean taking the highest risk, it sometimes just means not following the conventional thinking of others. See where conventional knowledge has brought everyone, do you want to still continue on this path? Seek to follow a road less traveled because you would then see what only few has seen. Just because you have taken the less traveled road does not mean things would basically work out, it means you would just have to figure it on your own. And if you try following a lot of less traveled roads, you would one day have mastered it and would have mastered what only few people know.
Know that fear is important to keep us alive but also fear can keep us in the same place for the rest of our lives. So you can decide what it is going to be. Continue aiming low with what you have and achieving or seeking a new path where you can be a much better version of yourself. The fear of disappointment or breakdown would always be there when you try out new things but only in that risk is your reward. And would it help shape your life 10 years from now if you follow this new path or you would continue to be like others 10 years from now?
The choice is yours to make. Understand that living below our higher callings means that our lives in the end was never lived optimally and of what use is a person if their lives is not lived to the fullest. Know that anything below your maximum capacity means that you are living less than life and you would not want to do that. So seek to continue pushing everyday even if disappointment keeps rolling in. Just keep pushing. The right answer is on its way.
Thanks and God Bless.
