Relax Sometimes

Can you remember the last time you sat for about 5 minutes away from your phone and your work, and just focused on yourself? If you can remember the last time you did that, then I really have to congratulate you. But for the rest of us that are too busy trying to pursue the next big thing, I say take some few minutes today and relax. Sometimes, the reason why something does not simply work out is that we have narrowed our focus too much on it and it seems to only give us just one way to look at the problem.

Sometimes, all you have to do to resolve an issue is to change perspective. If you have been looking at your computer all the time, take a few minutes to go look at nature. If you have been in one activity for the past few hours, it is time to take a break and do something that can give you a better perspective. And sometimes, that thing you have to do does not have to be another activity. It can be as simple as taking a break. Understand that what matters is your purpose for taking the break.

When you take a break, your subconscious is still trying to resolve the issue. But you give your conscious self a break so that you can bring more ideas to the subconscious when you get back from the break. Yes, we are sometimes guilty of taking too long breaks, but make sure that whenever you want to take a break, be deliberate about it. I want to take a break to clear my head and have some more perspective. That way, you are able to enjoy the period of the break and get more done when you get back.

Because you spent the last 5 hours on a task does not necessarily mean you have done 5 hours worth of work. What you might need to help make that 5 hours count might be the break that allows you to see things differently. But know that I do not mean that you take a break every single minute. You know yourself better than anyone and you know when you really need a break. Give it to yourself. You owe yourself that much.

And know that when you relax, it can be as simple as keeping your phone away and basically concentrating on what lies in your environment or what is even going on inside of your system. Sometimes, when you are running and something happens to you, you do not feel it until you stop to take a break. Same as working and taking a break, maybe what is stopping you can only be determined when you stop to take a break. Give yourself that opportunity to take a break.

Breaks and relaxations are important for everybody. But know that they are only useful if you break from meaningful work. You need to have something to break from. So realize that break is important, but more importantly, you need to break away from work. So give yourself breaks from work. You deserve it. And when you take the break, sometimes, just be by yourself. You can find really important information about yourself that you can hardly find any other way.

Do wonderful things today and then take a break. You do not need to break down completely before you take a break. Start now. Do have a wonderful day. Thanks and God bless.
