The Mistake Is The Way
There are times when I read about something, think deeply about it, then go out and do the exact opposite of what I have learned. After all of that is past, I think carefully about what I have done and realize ways I could have been better. But only after the deed has been done. I then promise myself and hope never to make that same mistake the next time.
This is probably something that happens to you, you know something off too well, but forget to enact it when it is most important. This realization is an important one because it makes us realize that we are humans and can make mistakes even when we know better. But one thing that keeps me going on is realizing that knowing we are wrong and finding ways to improve is probably the best way to keep going. The lessons we are learning from our mistakes would be important in the future. Maybe the lesson was not useful yesterday, but it may be very important someday.
As such, never give up on learning from the mistakes you make every day. The lessons are there for a reason. It may be that Allah wants us to realize something much greater than what we think. If we make mistakes, it makes us humble and understand that we are not as superb as we think. That is important because even in the face of success, we realize that it could have easily gone the other way. We do not take the success to our heads and continue to learn to find ways to improve.
Mistakes make us humble while giving us another opportunity to be better. We learn from our own mistakes and that makes us a better version of ourselves. Imagine your mistakes as bugs and learning from them as software updates and fixes. No software is ever perfect, but the promise a good software gives is to actively find bugs and fix them.
That is the same promise we can give ourselves. We are not perfect, but we seek perfection by finding the mistakes that need updating. As long as you are getting updated, you are doing fine. Ensure you are learning from your mistakes and improving on them. The mistakes might eventually be lessons we seek to find.
