Why I don’t celebrate mother’s day and why you shouldn’t too.

The idea that we have to select a single day in an entire year to celebrate the most important person in our lives is to me simply nonsense. You see, no matter how much you think about it, your mother is that person who loved you even before you were anything. And continues to love you for the rest of your life no matter how you turn out. Do you then think that simply choosing one day to celebrate that person is enough?

To define unconditional love, you have to look no further than the love a mother has for her child. When we want to start new relationships, we try to meet the person we want to go into a relationship with to be sure they are the right person for us, we spend time getting to know one another before we finally commit to the relationship. But have you realized that the one relationship where the choice of not meeting the person we want to go into a relationship with is not made available to us is a mother to her child. And before the physical encounter with her child, a mother already made up her mind to love the child no matter what.

No matter what comes out when a child is born, a mother loves such a being even with all the flaws they may come into the world with. They are the greatest supporter for a child, the one who seeks greatness in a child even when no one sees it. How dare we then simply choose just one day in a year to honor such a person?

It is important to realize that the one thing we can never replace is our mother. No matter what you do, you would only have one mother. A mother can never be replaced, but well a mother can have numerous children. Even at that, the love we get from our mother never diminishes a bit. No matter how many children they have to share it with. Do you then think that celebrating them once a year is enough?

And this is to me why I believe that we need to honor our mothers every day. The need to honor our mothers daily can never be overemphasized. You see, what makes a mother happy is normally so simple that we normally do not see it as a big deal. A simple call from a child to a mother to check up on them when the day starts is a wonderful way to start our day. Reaching out to them to help even when they do not ask for it is something also very very important. Do these everyday and to me…
