Why I don’t celebrate mother’s day and why you shouldn’t too.
The idea that we have to select a single day in an entire year to celebrate the most important person in our lives is to me simply nonsense. You see, no matter how much you think about it, your mother is that person who loved you even before you were anything. And continues to love you for the rest of your life no matter how you turn out. Do you then think that simply choosing one day to celebrate that person is enough?
To define unconditional love, you have to look no further than the love a mother has for her child. When we want to start new relationships, we try to meet the person we want to go into a relationship with to be sure they are the right person for us, we spend time getting to know one another before we finally commit to the relationship. But have you realized that the one relationship where the choice of not meeting the person we want to go into a relationship with is not made available to us is a mother to her child. And before the physical encounter with her child, a mother already made up her mind to love the child no matter what.
No matter what comes out when a child is born, a mother loves such a being even with all the flaws they may come into the world with. They are the greatest supporter for a child, the one who seeks greatness in a child even when no one sees it. How dare we then simply…
